Northeast Wholesale Founder Dies

Construction Distribution has learned that Irving Hurwitz, founder and CEO of Northeast Wholesale Nail & Fastener Supply, Canton, MA, died unexpectedly in late March. The elder Hurwitz and his two sons, Rick and John, were featured on the cover of CD's February/March 2008 edition.

American Supply Association Names Executive Director

Amy Black has been named executive director of the Chicago-based American Supply Association. She was director of membership prior to her recent appointment and managed the group's Young Executives division and its industrial supply divisions.

Diteq Names Engineering Manager

Mike Orzechowski has been named engineering manager for Diteq Diamond Tools & Equipment. He comes to the new post with more than 20 years' engineering experience and holds two college degrees, one in physics and one in mechanical engineering. Since 2004 he has been chairman of the standards and specifications committee for the CSDA.

TTI Appoints Power Tool Division President

Techtronic Industries Co. Ltd. (TTI) has announced the appointment of Mike Farrah as Power Tool Division president for TTI-North America.

In his new position as president of the South Carolina-based Power Tool Division, Farrah will have full responsibility for the business as it relates to the Ryobi and Ridgid brands, including operations, product development, sales and marketing.

Farrah joined TTI in March 2007 as senior vice president of Power Tool Sales, Marketing and Product Development, having spent 10 years at The Home Depot.

Spider Adds Sales Rep

Spider, a division of SafeWorks, has added Lee Tigner to its district sales team. He will be working out of the Atlanta offices and covering Georgia and parts of Tennessee and Alabama.

He has more than 10 years' experience in the building materials business and will concentrate on helping customers solve their suspended access and related safety challenges.

David Luck named ABC Supply CEO

David A. Luck has been named CEO of Wisconsin-based ABC Supply Co. Inc. He will continue to hold the title of company president. He joined the company in 1998 as its president and chief operating officer.
